Who wants to be a millionaire?
A group of Aldergrove families will have a chance to build their net worth on the Oprah Winfrey Network in Canada.
A Vancouver production company is now casting for a new reality television series called The Million Dollar Neighbourhood.
The series, which will start filming in August, aims to help the rural community increase their collective net worth by $1 million in just three months.
Several families will receive in-depth financial advice, complete a series of investment challenges and win prizes for achievements.
“It’s going to be fantastic for the community,” said Aldergrove Business Association president Bruce Hyslop.
Hyslop said the business association had been working on its own Aldergrove-improvement projects. Since it was founded at the beginning of the year, they have been doing community cleanups, improvement projects for homeowners in need, programs for youth, and have helped businesses and property owners crack down on crime, which had plagued the community of 12,000.
